“I love many of Lee’s supporters and wish these two candidates weren’t running against one another. I have nothing against Lee. But in rocky times, I think our community needs not just a steady hand, but an energetic, enthusiastic, innovative, smart and steady hand at the helm. I like Brewster’s work ethic; his enthusiasm for leading Austin into the alternative /clean energy forefront; his commitment to building neighborhood strengths (parks, trails, etc) throughout all of Austin meaning underserved areas as well; the bridges he has built to the entrepreneurial part of The University and linking that with Austin Energy (the Pecan Street Project). I think he best reflects the creative energy and youthful spirit of Austin through the way he thinks and the things he prioritizes. I think he better connects to the spirit and energy of the creative class of this city which I believe is what distinguishes Austin as a world class city.”
